GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please complete the information requested in the Claim Form to the best of your ability.  You can file a Group 1 Claim and/or Group 2 Claim.

Group 1 payments will depend on the total pounds of flue-cured tobacco you marketed and sold between June 1, 1946 and September 13, 2017.

Group 2 payments will depend on the number of years in which you marketed and sold flue-cured tobacco between June 1, 1946 and September 13, 2017.

You will have an opportunity during the online filing process to upload electronic copies of any documentation that you have.  Examples of some types of information you may submit with your claim could include:
- U.S. Tobacco or Stabilization membership number (of the member to whom the membership certificate was issued)
- For Group 1 Claims: Documents that may help determine the total pounds of flue-cured tobacco you or your predecessor marketed and sold from June 1, 1946 through September 13, 2017.
- For Group 2 Claims: Documents that may help determine the total number of crop years in which you or your predecessor marketed and sold flue-cured tobacco from June 1, 1946 through September 13, 2017.
- For Heirs or Representatives: Documents showing you are the legal heir or representative of the deceased member.

If you do not have documentation to upload, you may still submit your claim online.

Even if you do not have documentation verifying the amount of flue-cured tobacco sold, the years during which it was sold, or the crop years in which you sold and marketed flue-cured tobacco through U.S. Tobacco, it is possible, although not guaranteed, that you may still be able to participate in the Settlement.

The Claims Administrator may follow up with you later if there are questions about your claim.  The deadline to file a claim is May 26, 2018.
